Nahjai Soul is a 100% independent artist and can always use a little help. If you are interested in finding ways to get Nahjai Souls music out there, here are some suggestions.
Tell a friend
Word of mouth is the number one way for independent music to get around. Play some tunes for any of your friends or family. Direct them to Nahjai's web site.
Come to live shows and bring your friends
Touring is how musicians make a living. Many club owners decide whether or not they will bring Nahjai Soul back to a venue based on how many people come to the show. Please come down and bring your friends, family, co-workers, lovers, ex-lovers, etc.
Purchase Nahjai's CD of brand new songs
Nahjai Soul is trying to raise money to complete her next album. In order to raise funds, she has made recordings of other songs. By purchasing one of these discs, you will provide the financial support so she can go into the studio and make some of these new songs with a full band. You will also have rare recordings of these songs that will never be officially released. Write the words “New Disc" on the memo section. Please include your email address
and phone number in case there any complications with the transaction.
INahjai has tried to make it as conveinent as possible without accumilating so many costs to provide you with easy ways to purchase her music. You can go to www.itunes.com and purchase downnloads of her music or directly from her myspace page.
Host a house concert
Yes! This is the wave of the future Invite your friends and family, make it a potluck, Nahjai will perform right there in your living room. We’ll set a suggested donation and everyone pitches in. This is the most intimate environment in which to appreciate live music! Please email nusongentertainment@yahoo.com for further details.
Pass out flyers.
Email nusongentertainment@yahoo.com to join our street team. We’ll send you flyers for Nahjai Soul's next show (and of course some free goodies). The best idea is to find a show of an artist similar to Nahjai Soul in your hometown (maybe a Jill Scott, a Musiq SoulChild show or one of your hometown’s popular artists). Stand right outside the door at the very end of the show when everyone leaving excited about music, and pass out flyers. Let them know if they like these artists, they may like Nahjai Soul.
Make a contribution
Nahjai Soul has no investors. She continues to make albums through her income from shows, CD sales, and financial contributions. We have designed a donor form, in which (just like NPR pledge drives), you will receive “goodies” for your donations. Radio promoters and publicists are extremely expensive, but a must-have in the competitive music market of today. Independent artists simply don’t have the same promotional budget as artists on major labels. Your contribution will allow us to properly promote her albums and help keep independent music alive. For your pledge of $15, you will receive:
5 songs that do not appear on any of Nahjai Souls albums and will not be available for sale.
The Lung Package
For your pledge of $30, you will receive:
5 songs that do not appear on any of Nahjai Soul's albums and will not be available for sale, and one signed copy of Nahjai's latest release.
The Bone Marrow Package
For your pledge of $50, you will receive:
5 songs that do not appear on any of Nahjai Soul’s albums and will not be available for sale, one signed copy of Nahjai Soul's latest release, and one request – Choose any song that you have heard Nahjai Soul play at a show, or ask her to learn a song you’d like to hear her sing. She will learn or relearn it and record it for you.
The Brain Package
For your pledge of $100, you will receive:
5 songs that do not appear on any of Nahjai Soul's albums and will not be available for sale, one signed copy of Nahjai Soul's latest release, and two request – Choose any 2 songs that you have heard Nahjai Soul play at a show, or ask her to learn a song you’d like to hear her sing. She will learn or relearn it and record it for you.
The Heart Package
For your pledge of $200, you will receive:
5 songs that do not appear on any of Nahjai Soul's albums and will not be available for sale, one signed copy of Nahjai Soul's latest release, and 3 request – Choose any 3 songs that you have heard Nahjai Soul play at a show, or ask her to learn 3 songs you’d like to hear her sing. She will learn or relearn it and record it for you. You may ask for a newer version of something already recorded or something she never recorded. You will also receive a private performance for you and your friends at your next gathering when Nahjai Soul is in your area. Details on performance times and locations may vary upon availability,
